NAGPUR: A 46-year-old director of a missionary NGO has been booked by Sadar police for allegedly molesting a married woman, who was earlier working in the same organization. The victim filed the complaint on Monday.

The accused, identified as Vilas Shende, has not been arrested by police yet. Cops said that some months have passed since Shende was appointed as director in-charge of the organization.
The victim, a widow mother, claimed in her police complaint that she had been tolerating Shende’s misbehaviour since March 18. She alleged that Shende would many times call her in his office and physically harass her. She told police that Shende had even proposed a physical relationship to her.

The woman said that since the accused was a senior member, she didn’t reported the matter to the organization’s committee. But she had complained to some other senior members, who ignored her complaint. Finally, to teach a lesson to Shende, she reported the matter to Sadar police station on Monday. Police said Shende was not available at his residence.
